I happened to study in OG from 1950 to 1954 in the Junior school as well as the Boy's School . I rememeber Mrs Haslam who taught me and of course Mrs. Edwrds who was class teacher and my all time favorite teacher . I met her long after some time in Bombay in the late Eighties. She had left OG and moved to Wynberg School in Mussoorie. I remember Adrian Pushong who was Alisonselder Brother . We all were staying in a wierd town called Sahibganj. I have never met any of my OG school friends except one Ganesh Chawla from Delhi who was with Air France at that time. Mr.B.J Love was the Principal in our times.I wish I could inter act or meet any Oak Grovian of my period!!!! samhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18444266741233223516noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2504937221167812303.post-14266047367923996492010-11-01T03:10:30.596+05:302010-11-01T03:10:30.596+05:30i am am oakgrovian. the dress of the school is cha...i am am oakgrovian. the dress of the school is changing from red to blue.
don;t you all think that we should do something for it? we are not recognized by our dress in outings. the uniform has changed and this is not good that our traditional dress has changednasa videoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13333046834618805321noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2504937221167812303.post-44879709257954319202009-06-22T22:01:41.375+05:302009-06-22T22:01:41.375+05:30I'm not an Oakgrovian, but an ex- Dosco. I was...I'm not an Oakgrovian, but an ex- Dosco. I was visiting Mussoorie in June 2009 and my bus took the less frequented Jhari Pani route. I was intrigued by Oak Grove's recessed location in the woods and my mind went back to the Oakgrovian sports teams which used to visit the Doon during my time (1964-69). We did not know much about Oak Grove then but the name had an air of mystery with the words "Jhari Pani" always attached to it. I do wish there had been greater interaction between Doon and Oak Grove, quite clearly among the few truly secular (ie non-denominational) schools in the area.
I was moved by Carolyn Martin's account and decided to post this comment.
Anil Nauriya
instituteone@gmail.comAnil Nauriyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12408786027515664020noreply@blogger.com
